Meet the FounderS

Lestarya, CEO & Founder

Growing up, Lestarya had never been camping and knew nobody who did. At a young age, her parents passed away, and Lestarya hiked to heal. Eventually, she became curious to go camping.

Despite freezing in her not-so-good sleeping bag, she fell in love with the freedom and clarity that camping brought her.

Over time, she figured out camping and introduced many more people to it. Lestarya is passionate about making camping and outdoor recreation accessible and enjoyable for all, especially people of color who have been under-represented in outdoor recreation.

Lestarya has 15 years experience innovating and introducing new technology that makes a difference for millions of people all over the world. Lestarya graduated from UC Berkeley with B.S. Environmental Economics & Policy, and earned her M.S. Applied Psychology from the University of Southern California. Fridie Outdoors provides camping & outdoor know-how that often only comes with having friends to show you the ropes, Lestarya encourages people to go for it. Let’s get camping!

Scott, CTO & Co-Founder

Getting outside and connecting with people is why Scott camps. Scott has been camping since he was a kid. He now enjoys introducing people to camping and sharing camping know-how.

Scott’s knot tying skills came to the rescue when he set up a tarp shelter to keep his fellow campers dry and happy during a rainy camping trip.

After graduating from Oregon State University with B.S. Computer Science, Scott has focused his career on building and delivering mobile applications that people enjoy using every day.

He is excited to combine his passion and experience to get more people camping. As Scott often says, “You got this!”
